About

This blog was previously dedicated to HaxeFlixel and documents all of LWY’s studies, findings and tutorial series on anything related to Haxe, OpenFL and especially HaxeFlixel.

Currently, the blog is sporadically updated, at average once a month, and documents LWY’s progress in general gamedev.

Hey, your tutorials have really helped, thought I should thank you!

Also your art is awesome, inspiring even, I also do the art/programming duo.

Hope all is well! Take care

Hi there ADev! Thank you for leaving a comment, and I apologise for the month-late reply. All is well; In fact I have some news which I’ll reveal in an upcoming blog post in the next month or so. I’m glad my past tutorials are still helpful, and hope you’re making good progress with whatever you’re working on. Have a nice day! 🙂

Hi, i need your help in making a level in my game that can be puchased using the coins collected from the game. I have tried to figure this out my self, but it didn’t turn out the way i wanted. I usually code with python, panda, kha e.t.c so i am a little light on haxeflixel. Please help.

  3. Hallo, Leong

I hope I got the first name right.

I stumbled on your profile through your application to Commercetools (I work there; my Github profile is gnerkus) and I decided to check out your blog. I read the article “Goodbye 2016” and had to reach out to you somehow.

I have slightly similar experiences. I’ve always wanted to be a mangaka but my art is too poor and I don’t know Japanese. So I postponed that to work on games but the environment in my country (Nigeria) wasn’t conducive enough. I had to learn web programming to get a job that could keep the lights on.

Now I have a steady job that pays well, I’ve decided to go back to making games and taking it seriously. My art is still poor (I’m working on it) but yours is the complete opposite. I would like to work with you (as a hobbyist game dev).

    A side note:
While I do work at Commercetools, I’m in no position to influence the hiring process. That said, I would love to meet you in person and hope that you get hired.

Thanks, again, for the blog article.
